Pumpkin Carving in the 919: 2010 Edition

I’m a week behind on this, but last Sunday night Jay, Zoe and I carved our Halloween pumpkin.  I dressed Zoe up in her costume for this year, which is a devil.  Yeah, I know she looks more like Little Red Riding Hood with horns but whatever, I think it’s funny.  Anyways, I figured I’d put up some pictures to illustrate the activity.  Captions are on top of each picture this time.

The process begins and Jay looks way too excited to be holding that knife.

“Daddy, what are you doing over there?”  “If you don’t behave, you’re gonna get it, kitty.”

Safe in her new box with her costume on.

Time to draw the face!

Almost done!

“Please God, let this humiliation end.  Make her take it off of me now.”

“I’VE ALMOST GOT IT OFF!!”

If Zoe doesn’t want to wear her devil costume, then it’s the pumpkin’s problem now…

“What is this?”

And that’s how we spent last Sunday night.  I’ll make sure I post a picture of the Jack-O-Lantern all lit up on Halloween!
