Pumpkin Carving in the 919: 2012 Edition

It’s that time of year again!  Jay and I carved our pumpkin on Sunday night.  We’ve done so every year since I moved to Raleigh and every year, I break out the old camera and take lots of unnecessary pictures to document that Jay can successfully carve a pumpkin! (2009, 2010, 2011.)  We also drink beer and torture Zoe with costumes.  Ah, good times.  You know, I actually looked for a new costume for Zoe this year, but I didn’t like anything that I came across at PetSmart.  I still really want to get her Mickey Mouse ears, so hopefully I can find those one of these days.  If anyone comes across legit Mickey/Minnie ears for cats, holler at me because I know a kitty in Raleigh who’s day I have to ruin with them.

Here’s the evening in pictures.  I only forced Zoe to try on two costumes this year and the inside of the pumpkin was too damp for us to light it, so I’ll have to post a picture of it lit up later on.  Happy Halloween, everyone!

Getting ready to carve.

Traditional pumpkin guts picture.

Little Zobo looks on in her angel costume.

“Is this a box that I can fit in?”

Presented without comment.

Costume #2 did not last very long.  Excuse how gross I look in this picture.  I’ve reached that age where unfortunately I need to wear make-up to look decent in pictures.  Sad day, indeed!

Hard at work crafting the face.

Watching with curiosity.

Brave enough to get a little closer…

Ta daaaa!

One more for good measure.  A little bit of a different mouth this year.
