I did not have as productive a weekend as I wanted to have. I didn’t make it to the gym yesterday, I didn’t finish all of the thank you cards (though to date, I have written 78 of them and my brain is incredibly tired), and I didn’t do nearly as much homework as I hoped to have finished. The last one is my own fault because I planned on doing it during the Chargers game yesterday but naturally, I brought the wrong book to Jay’s parents’ house and had to make do with what I could rely on by memory.
There was a big, bright spot in my otherwise disappointingly unproductive weekend: Food! On Saturday, I decided to be “adventurous” (aka “not make plain old pasta with sauce”) and instead do what millions of people already know how to do and make those Bertolli “Meals for Two” packages. Yeah, yeah, I know. Before you roll your eyes, just remember that old “One small step, one big leap” saying. Now I can make pasta, steak, pork chops, rice, chicken(ish) and Bertolli’s. The one that I selected – Italian Sausage and Rigatoni – was actually quite delicious and I wish that I had bought two of them because I would’ve love to have some leftovers. Hindsight…
On Sunday, Jay and I headed over to his parent’s house for the Chargers game, which was at 1pm this week instead of the usual 4:15pm time. For those of you who don’t know, Jay’s dad Jack makes an absolutely delicious brunch every Sunday morning and has been doing this for forever. Shhhhh, don’t tell Jay, but one of the reasons that I used to love visiting him in Raleigh when I still lived in NY was because Jack’s brunches were da bomb yo! I think this is the first one that we’ve been to since I moved to Raleigh. Maybe not that long, but definitely since Jay started working at Apple.
YUMMY! I haven’t had a breakfast of more than cereal in ages, mainly because I can’t eat much before I work out and I tend to work out in the morning on the weekend.
Anyways (ding), I need to get to class. I’ve been working on a ton of different blogs lately, so my writer’s block (exhaustion after class) is over. Stay tuned!Shop Amazon - Hot New Releases - Updated Every Hour
