Last weekend, the Glatfelters of Raleigh went to see Heart and Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience when they came to Raleigh and played at the Time Warner Pavilion at Walnut Creek. I’m so glad we went. It was a lot of fun and the weather held out for us. It was supposed to rain and lucky us – everyone in the lawn section got moved up to seating under the pavilion.
Both bands sounded great. Jay sang along loudly to every Led Zeppelin song and it was the cutest thing ever, haha. His throat was sore the next morning. I knew some Heart songs from the radio, but was pleasantly surprised to realize that I knew a lot more songs than I thought I did. I don’t know why we don’t see more concerts. I always have fun, even when the artist is too stoned to even put on a good show (ahem Rob Thomas ahem cough cough).
Anyway, I don’t have much else to say other than if they come to your area, I’d recommend going. Ann Wilson’s voice is fantastic. She doesn’t sound like someone who’s been touring for 30 years; it’s amazing. My personal favorite part of the evening was when both bands combined and sang Zeppelin songs together. Jay took a bunch of videos and uploaded them to my YouTube account (thanks, Smoopsies!), so I’ll post them below. Hope you enjoy!
