I know I’ve been on a blogging roll lately, so I am going to keep this one quick! I’m also going to keep this one happy, haha. I’m not going to be near a computer for the next three days, so it’s safe to safe that I probably won’t be blogging until at least Tuesday. I’m headed to upstate New York for a visit with some of my girlfriends from college (Team SACS).
Your favorite quote.
It’s tough for me to pick just one, so I’m calling it a tie between these two:
“What’s coming will come and we’ll meet it when it does.” -Hagrid, Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire
“Be the heroine of your life, not the victim.” -Nora Ephron
I love the message of both quotes. I interpret the Harry Potter quote, which is from the end of Goblet of Fire, has being prepared for whatever life has in store for you and rising to the challenge rather than living in fear and anxiety of what’s to come and cowering away from it.
The second quote is from Nora Ephron’s Commencement Address To Wellesley Class Of 1996. It may be aimed at the female gender, but it applies to everyone. I see it everywhere – people (particularly women) who go “woe is me” and use it as an excuse or cop out or ploy for sympathy. I don’t think it’s a very outrageous notion to wish that people not let the things that damage them damage them or try to cry foul about every little thing. Be your own hero.
Anyway, those are my two favorite quotes. I could’ve probably done a Top 10 list, but my friend Sara is coming to pick me up for the airport in about eight minutes and I’m still sitting here naked (just kidding, I’m in my work clothes…or am I?) typing this. Oh and I’m not fully packed yet either. Crap, gotta go. Leave your favorite quotes in the comments section. Looking forward to reading them! Have a great weekend!!!
