So it’s now been one week since I signed up for this Viggle app. Can you say addicting?! Basically, it’s just another social media app where you “Check In” to TV shows as you watch them. It’s sorta like Four Square meets SoundHound. You have to be watching the TV show and it cannot be on DVD. DVR, yes, but not DVD. It has to be a show that is currently or has very recently aired. Anyway, you hold your phone up so the app can “listen” to what you’re watching and then get points for checking in. Those points add up and you can rewards. I’m currently gunning for the 50,000 points so I can redeem them for an Amazon gift card.
The thing I’ve enjoyed so much about Viggle is how interactive they have been with the Olympics. I hadn’t really watched them much prior to last Saturday, but since I’ve been watching them to check in and playing along with all their Olympic trivia, I’ve gotten so into the Olympics. I know, I’m such a stereotype of the modern world – I need incentives and apps to force me to watch what I should’ve been watching all along. I hope the app is just as much fun without the Olympics around.
Bottom line: I definitely recommend trying this app out, even if just for a little while. Aaaaand if you sign up, you should do it from my “personal” link so I can get points too, haha. My goal is to have 50,000 points by September so I can use the Amazon gift card to buy The Casual Vacancy with it, lol. Help promote my literacy! (You don’t really have to, but it would be neato so I’m just throwing it out there). Here’s my link: http://join.viggle.com/Colleen29. Check it out if you want and let me know what you think.
